Our two managing directors Sebastian Meindl and Dr. Marc Pauwels were invited on 21st and 22nd February 2023 to contribute to the conference “The 4th International Quality and Value Engineering Conference” taking place in Muscat, Oman.
The conference with the motto “Value Engineering in the Age of Uncertainty” was under the patronage of H.E Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat. In addition to numerous dignitaries from government and large companies in the region, about 270 participants came to listen to the lectures of the conference and to participate in the workshops. As Director Global Affairs of SAVE International© www.value-eng.org , Dr. Pauwels gave the keynote presentation during the opening ceremony about “Value Engineering from a Global Perspective”. In addition, he gave two further lectures and conducted a workshop. As Deputy Chairman of the Department of Value Management and Value Analysis/Value Engineering of the German Association of Engineers VDI www.vdi.de , Sebastian Meindl informed the attendees about the status of the methodology in Germany and gave another lecture on a case study in Value Analysis/Value Engineering.
The approximately 270 participants of the conference came mainly from the public sectors in Oman and from large companies in the oil and gas industry as well as water management. The application of value engineering in Oman also takes place predominantly in these areas.
The conference can be regarded as a complete success. For the Bahraini Origin Group www.origin.com.bh as content organizer, the Omani Al-Assayel Group www.alassayel.com.om as local event organizer, for the participants and also for the entire Value Methodology community. The success motivates the Origin Group to hold this event in a similar format in May 2023 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
